Review of Huawei P30 Pro – The Zoom Master Comes

The trends in mobile photography are changing all the time, and manufacturers are moving forward with new technologies to capture even better portraits, even wider photos or, often, incredibly illuminated night shots. However, Huawei sees the future in zoom and equipped its new P30 Pro with an unprecedented 5x optical zoom camera. If it's just a marketing attraction or a really useful resource, we'll respond to today's review.

Huawei has proven in the past that it can make cameras and boldly compare the best on the market. In fact, the precursor of the current Huawei P30 Pro peer-reviewed long ago ranks first in the DxOMark ranking. The new P30 Pro should raise the level of the photo session by raising the bar when it comes to a quadruple optical zoom and great nighttime results. However, the photosports themselves are definitely not the only thing this beautiful handset can be proud of.

Package content: great pleasure and less disappointment

In the classic white case, plus the phone itself, which spies you right after lifting the lid, I also found a transparent protective cover, charging adapter for the socket, USB cable and headphones. The protective cover for the phone fits very well and I commend the fact that the phone looks great on this. The USB-C cable, on the one hand, and the classic USB-A, on the other, is no surprise and has a standard length of one meter. The other is the power adapter, which is not standard, because it has power up to 40W. With Huawei SuperCharge technology, you can recharge your Huawei P30 Pro very fast.

Huawei P30 Pro

What is standard on the highest models of Huawei are the headphones of stone, which may or may not fit in your ears. And yes, I fall into the second category. I think it would be much more practical to pack the headphones with silicone extensions to fit just about everyone. Unfortunately, I have not found a USB-C connector for a 3.5mm audio jack in the package, which the P30 Pro version (as opposed to the smaller non Pro version) does not have – for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, this reduction was .

Structural processing: has a special aura

The design of the new Huawei P30 Pro is no surprise. It is a combination of glass and aluminum frame. Also this time I must praise the perfect processing or the presence of IP68 protection. The color variant tested Aurora liked not only me but also the environment, and although it certainly does not look annoying, it still has a subtle touch. In addition, there is also a reddish variant of Amber Sunrise, elegant black classic or Crystal Breathing, which, according to the manufacturer, should resemble the midday sky. Because of the islet with the cameras, the phone is on the table, which can easily be eliminated with the protective cover closed.

The phone is still in the hand and at least for the Aurora variant tested, I was pleasantly surprised that fewer traces of fingerprints were made behind my back than I expected. The weight of 192 grams may seem very high at first glance, but it does not bother me when use, and in my opinion, gives a premium brand. The front and back sides of the glass are rounded in a frame that is aluminum and has a cyan color that blends well back.

If you want to control all your electronics with a controller, you will use infrared.

An important power off button, along with volume control bracket, is located on the right side and has a great grip. Also, your position is ideal and the thumb will always touch it. Following the standard of Huawei Mate Pro 20, it is decorated with a red color, but in case the P30 Pro is just a decent line in the middle of a button that is not too strong. When we slide our fingers down the frame, we come to the lower side, which is already more bevelled, so much so that with a little effort I managed to balance the phone and put it in it. On the left side of the bottom side is a slot for two nanoSIM cards, one nanoSIM card and one non-standard nanoSD memory card. This type of card still uses only Huawei and unfortunately is not very widespread. After pulling out, we note that the drawer surrounds the red seal which confirms the presence of enhanced IP68 protection. In addition to the drawer, there is also a USB-C connector, but this time the speaker is not hidden because it found a place next to it. However, in my opinion, the speakers would be more centered between the edge and the black plastic antenna split.

As you already know from the chapter discussing the contents of the package, the Huawei P30 Pro does not have a 3.5 mm jack, but surprisingly it was not deprived of the less equipped and cheaper Huawei P30. Whether you like Canadian jokes or want to master all your home electronics with a phone, you will be pleased with the presence of the infrared, located on the top of the secondary microphone. Overall, the phone has a truly premium impression and a positive feel.
