Prazdroj announces record sales –

The trend of previous years, characterized by a drop in demand for beer, was reversed – it sold about two per cent more in pubs last year.

The success of the brewery was due, among other things, to the very hot weather of last year, with its major summer season and long-term activities aimed at improving the environment, operation and service levels of restaurants.

"We know from a lot of research that the pubs that have engaged in our support programs and increased the quality of the services offered grew faster than the rest of the market," said Tomas Mraz, sales director of Plzensky Prazdroj.

Store sales last year increased by five percent. Sales of beer in cans, as well as in returnable bottles, have increased. Non-alcoholic beers accounted for almost half of the growth – Birella sold a fifth higher than the previous year, cider interest increased by twelve percent.

2018 also wanted lagers. "The Czechs love them. Last year there was a growing interest in Radegast Ryze bitter twelve, Pilsner Urquell or the respective Gambrinus brand. Overall, demand for our beer increased by five percent last year, "said Mraz.

Sales volumes abroad will be published by Prazdroj in April.
