Dutchman Anko Van der Werff, who has a long career in the aeronautics industry, is the new CEO of Avianca Holdindgs. Van der Werff arrives at the Colombian company to replace Hernán Rincón, who left office earlier this year.

The new CEO, graduated from Harvard Business School, arrives at a time for the company that, after a shake-up that left the board of directors without a vote, its maximum shareholder, Germán Efromovich, begins to work with new members in the council, which is chaired by Roberto Kriete, president of Avianca's minority shareholder Kingsland.
