South African actress Charlize Theron confessed to The Daily Mail that her eldest son, Jackson, had told her from a very young age that she did not feel like a child, but rather a girl.
Theron, 43, confirmed in an interview with the British media to stop rumors about the girl's gender identity, which was triggered in the entertainment world by the child's dress.
In 2016, Theron was at the center of a social networking debate after the paparazzi photographed her with her son Jackson, wearing a princess dress inspired by the Frozen Elsa character.
The picture caused so much controversy that the internet was divided between those who considered it a bad mother and those who defended the actress's right to allow her son to dress in what looked best.
"Yes, I also thought that I was a child, until he was 3 years old he looked at me and said he was not a child," added Charlize.
The protagonist of such films as "Atomic", "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Mad Max", among others, said she wants to support her little, no matter how strong the criticism with her and her family.
Theron adopted Jackson in 2012 and, as explained in several interviews, made the decision to do so because of his proximity to orphanages and children living in poverty in his native Africa. In addition, three years later, Charlize also added her daughter August to the family.
"I have two beautiful daughters who, like any other mother, want to protect and I want them to prosper, it is not for me to decide where they want to end up or who they want to be, my job as a mother is to honor them, to love them and to have them sure that they have everything they need to be who they want to be, and will do everything in my power to have my daughters have that right, "added Theron.
