UDI elections: Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe will remain at the head of the party

A long day lived the ultra right-wing party, the Independent Democratic Union (IDU). After a failed attempt at electronic voting, they were finally able to complete their internal elections by returning to traditional ballot papers.

After 9:00 pm on Sunday night, the results were announced: Jaqueline Van Rysselberghe was the winner of the election, which makes her a second party president. It is against Javier Javier Macaya.

Words of the winner

"I am very grateful to all the people who have supported us and tell everyone that we will do our best to be a party where we can all work together," he told La Tercera, the senator.

Van Rysselberghe won the election with 55% of the votes.
