The early morning of this Wednesday, January 30, at 4:44 am, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake affected the northern part of the country, according to the Seismological Center of the University of Chile.
According to data provided by the Agency, the epicenter was located 53 kilometers south of Taltal, in the Region of Antofagasta, with a depth of 53.0 km.

Preliminary no damages are reported to persons, structures or alteration of basic services as a result of the telluric movement and the SHOA indicated that it does not have the necessary characteristics to generate a tsunami.
