After an audit of mobile portals conducted during the period from November 2017 to May 2018, the Sub-Secretariat of Telecommunications (Subtel) was able to detect some abnormalities in mobile portability, especially those associated with the prepaid segment.
Before analyzing the results of the survey, it was found that about 20% of the numbers transported during the aforementioned period did not show any type of traffic or recharge after portability.
Likewise, it was possible to detect that 23,361 chargers are associated with nonexistent RUT (Ex: 1,111,111-1,222,222-2, etc.), as well as other real ones that register between one and four thousand portions in the cycle studied. .
The undersecretary of Telecommunications, Pamela Gidi, requested that companies "be able to redouble their control and transparency processes in order to have a portability process that is clean and not generate suspicion among the same companies," he said.
In view of this, Subtel will request a meeting with the Number Portability Administrator (OAP) for more information and will require that the gateway controls be strengthened so that there is no large number and wrong data.
It should be noted that following Subtel's announcement – in May of this year – to initiate an audit process for numbers delivered for portability, the number of portations was significantly reduced in the following months.
