The U17 South American is scheduled for Conmebol between March 6 and 30 in three Peruvian locations. However, the neighboring country has some problems for the organization of the event, since the local government is focused on the work of the Pan-American Games in Lima, the Parapan-Am Games and the World Cup itself, scheduled for October.
In this context, Chile has emerged as an option to organize this event, although nothing is decided.
As you should know CDF News, The context of Peru, which even requested financial support from FIFA, began to be discussed among representatives of CONMEBOL who are in Sub 20 South America that is being held in Rancagua. "The Peruvian venue is being evaluated and as this year they have many events to organize, the confederation always looks to Chile for its ability, but still nothing is ratified," says a source linked to the Quilín present in South America.
Although it is a recent idea, Chile has always responded as organizer of important events (such as the Copa America 2015 and the world championships of young people and women) and the South American managers know this.
The government, furthermore, reveals that they have learned about this possibility, although they emphasize that formal contacts have not yet been made. "We only heard of this alternative, but we did not receive an official request," they argue. Likewise, they believe that if the plan is activated, the country is prepared and there will be support to host a continental tournament.
Peru, in the same way, continues to be the designated host country (Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna) and in the coming days there should be news.
