O held the last coordination meeting with public and private stakeholders to prepare the final details for the start of the 2018/2019 cruise season.

The cycle begins at 8 am on Sunday with the arrival of the cruise ship Seabourn Quest, of Arica, and whose next destinations in Chile are the ports of Antofagasta and San Antonio.

EPI's general manager, Alfredo Leiton, highlighted this coordination and the disposition of each one of them, in this regard also indicated that "our goal is to be prepared to give the best attention and for that it is fundamental to coordinate our professionals." with all the other institutions so that the stay of the passengers is unforgettable ".

Leiton also announced that EPI has acquired a new X-ray machine as part of its security protocols and will be used for the first time with Seabourn Quest.

The meeting was also attended by the director of Sernatur, Bárbara Rojas, who explained that for the occasion they will install a Tourist Information Office with the participation of bilingual informants.

"We will have bilingual material and the best possible scenario to get a good presentation as a tourist destination in the region of Tarapacá. In that sense, I think these meetings are very good where we are all present and we agree, so we will continue to participate," he said.

The arrival of the cruise on Sunday will be the first cradle of eight to be held at the Port of Iquique during the 2018-2019 season. In total, the projected arrival of 5,484 passengers, 82% more than last season, when they arrived.
