It is important to mention that in the region of O & # 39; Higgins, from 2007 to December 2017, 1,309 cases were reported and, from January 2018 to September 2018, there are 149 confirmed cases. In 2010, 102 cases were reported and, in 2017, 164 cases were confirmed, corresponding to an increase of 61%.

The Rapid HIV Test is an exploratory test that is used for HIV diagnosis and has a specificity of 100%. This is done by pricking a finger and drawing a drop of blood, which is then placed in a device and after 15 minutes of waiting, the result is delivered to the patient. If the person who performed it was given as a reactive result, it is coordinated with the health team to perform an ELISA test, which must be confirmed by the Public Health Institute (ISP).
