Microsoft is using Minecraft to redesign its offices

The use of video games as learning tools is not something new. In fact, nowadays it has become a common practice. A good example of the relevance they have acquired in the field of education are the museum modes present in the last two Assassin & Creed, which were used in educational institutions.

However, something that is not so common is the use of video games to present architectural designs. And what better game to play than Minecraft?

Microsoft is in the process of redesigning its offices in Redmond, Wash., And has hired Blockworks to build an interactive model of its new campus through Minecraft. A video posted by the US network CNBC shows the process behind the development of future office recreation:

The new Microsoft offices in Redmond will be spread over an area of over 200 hectares. They will consist of a collection of more than 100 buildings, which include shops and coffee shops. There will also be cricket, football and tennis courts. Its construction is expected to end in 2022.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that Blockworks uses the Mojang game to create building models. The company also offered its services to conduct similar simulations for Disney, Warner Bros. and the Museum of London.

Who would have thought that the franchise Minecraft, acquired by Microsoft in 2014, would serve much more than generate millions of dollars?
