From December 5 to 8, various topics related to the world of cryptography will be discussed, especially on the continent.
Today, Latin America is presented as a fertile ecosystem for crypto-coins.
For many, crypto-coins are shown as a possible solution to the historical problems that the region suffers, and therefore discussions about technology, its capabilities and its limits are recurrent.
This and more will be discussed in the new issue of LABITCONF, the Latin American Conference of Bitcoin and Blockchain. This will happen on December 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Cultural Center CorpArtes, located in Rosario Norte, 600, in Santiago, Chile.
The situation of the region in relation to the world of cryptography is very interesting. In Brazil, according to data from the LABITCONF, there were more than 1.4 million accounts opened in exchanges of crypto-crashes, while banks only saw 600,000 new registrations. In Mexico, crypto-coins were not accepted as money, but a new law cataloged them as commodities, allowing banks to work with them. In Argentina, they began to install the first ATMs that allow the purchase and sale of crypto-coins, but it is not the only country where this happens, also in Chile and Panama, among others. In Colombia, Congress presented a bill – not yet approved – to issue exchanges who wish to operate in the country and tax the transactions. In Peru, the volume of transactions with criptomoedas increased more than 50%. Uruguay has just created a new special committee to evaluate how to regulate crypto-coins to avoid financial terrorism and money laundering. And Paraguay, in turn, stands out as one of the cheapest countries to set up mining operations, thanks to the low costs of renewable energy compared to Canada or Sweden. We need to talk about Venezuela, a country in serious economic crisis, where crypto-currencies serve many migrants to send remittances to their families and where more and more companies accept them. For its part, Chile, the host country, where the conference will be held this time, is seeing an increasing number of exchanges and eager enthusiasts to learn more about cryptography.
In the midst of all this situation comes the sixth edition of LABITCONF. The previous ones were carried out in Argentina (2013 and 2016), Brazil (2014), Mexico (2015) and Colombia (2017). As in previous years, the event will feature the presence of some of the industry's most important benchmarks, including the Bitcoin and Blockchain Andreas Antonopoulos, the founder and CEO of ZCASH Zooko Wilcox and Diego Gutierrez Zaldivar de RSK, The Argentine company whose platform could bring a new wave of ICO, this time, was developed in Bitcoin.
Tickets are now available on the event website that you can enter by clicking here. These range from $ 300, for standard access, to $ 1,150, for the full VIP experience.
