SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 12 (EFE) .- Walmart Chile confirmed today that the National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE) has given the green light to the sale of Cornershop, an online shopping company, to the multinational retail giant, at 225 million dollars. .

The transfer of Cornershop, a platform for online shopping at supermarkets, pharmacies and other stores with home delivery, had been announced in September last year, but awaited approval from the regulator.

Wallmart Chile, a subsidiary of the American company of the same name, owns LĂder, one of the main supermarket chains in Chile, and the purchase of Cornershop aims to strengthen its sales area online with home delivery within a period between 60 and 90 minutes.

Likewise, it will allow you to compete in better conditions with other supermarket chains in this business area.

CornerShop was founded in Chile in 2015 as a small digital trading company by Chileans Daniel Undurraga and Juan Pablo Cuevas, and by Swedish Oskar Hjertonsson, current executive director of the company that also operates in Mexico.

The three founders, as reported last September, will remain ahead of the digital signature.
