Around 13:20 hours on Tuesday there was a fire in the Towers of Bilbao. The loss affected three departments. The buildings located in the area of ​​Francisco Bilbao and Duqueco streets are near the border between the districts of Las Condes and La Reina.

At least 9 firefighters arrived to the site, working to control the flames to prevent their propo- gation. Several departments were affected by smoke and combustion. The evacuation of most of the building was carried out. This would be the second such fire in the East sector this month. According to information provided by the fire department, the fire would have originated on the eighth floor.

Industry neighbors shared minute-by-minute photos and videos of the incident through social networks. Mayor Joaquín Lavín arrived at the site as a sign of support for the affected neighbors. According to information from the mayor, on the 14th floor was a prostrate elderly woman and an electrodependent girl, who could not get off the premises. "But they're okay, Paramedics watching, and this firehouse on the 13th floor evacuated 9 people," he said in his Twitter account.
