Customs seizes almost 100 kilos of base paste from a shipment of olives


Officials from the National Customs Service seized 255 packages containing cocaine base paste, which came in a cargo of olives destined for Santiago, the city where the illicit substance was to be marketed.

The incident occurred in the border area of ​​Chacalluta, Arica and Parinacota, where customs officials supervised a truck carrying olives and traveled from Tacna to Santiago.

After a first technological review, it was determined that 19 drums of the cargo had an anomalous density, so that it was inspected inside, where were found 255 packages, that contained a total of 99 kilos of 390 grams of base paste of cocaine, that was valued at more than $ 1,490 million.
