Arquitectonica designs a pool skyscraper & # 39; In Los Angeles
Arquitectonica, a Miami-based office, unveiled new images of its proposed 53-story tower in downtown Los Angeles. The building could be used for two different purposes: a residential condominium or a hotel. The City of Los Angeles and its Department of Urban Planning published an environmental impact report on the 240-foot-tall tower with pools in balance. The tower designed by Arquitectonica is one of many projects developed around Pershing Square.
JMF Development owns the Pershing Square building and grounds, located on Hill Street, and intends to build the tower around the historic structure. The design is based on a series of pools in balance and glass bottom. Beginning as balconies, the extrusions become increasingly prominent until they take the size of the pools in balance.
Of the two possibilities of the program, the first would include accommodation with two, three or four rooms in a hotel with 190 rooms, programs to support guests and parking for 126 vehicles. In the second option, the building would include one, two, three or four bedroom apartments and other services, as well as store space on the ground floor and parking for 187 vehicles.
The refurbishment of the Pershing Square building starts in 2020. The tower, however, has yet to be set.
