Argentina breaks record of 4,700 million dollars in wind and solar investments – ENERGIA LIMPIA XXI

Argentina is preparing to make history going from crisis to growth. This year a record new investment in renewable energy was achieved by generating a major technology movement from China, Denmark, Japan, Germany, Italy and other latitudes. Energia Clean XXI data confirms that there are currently 91 projects (17 in commercial operation and 74 in construction) that represent 3,334 MW, with an estimated investment of 4,755 million dollars in total execution.

"We have set out to promote renewable energy and we have made a very specific commitment: that by 2025 20% of the electricity demand will be covered by renewable energy and we are moving forward," President Mauricio Macri said recently when visiting an Argentine factory which manufactures wind turbines of the latest generation of the Vestas brand.

Energy Minister Javier Iguacel stressed that this is a paradigm shift, because they promote large projects of strategic importance, but also the daily self-consumption in homes that wish to change for the renewable option "It is the way to diversify the energy matrix in all the country, turning to the renewable and sustainable. The 17 projects in commercial operation for 418.3 MW of installed capacity and 611.5 million dollars of investment. While under construction, there are 74 projects with a total capacity of 2,916 MW.
