The China Mobile Partner Conference was opened in Guangzhou, China. Xiaomi demonstrated the Mi MIX 3 5G edition at the Chinese exhibition. Now that the 5G capabilities of Mi MIX 3 have been publicly demonstrated, it looks like it will be one of the first 5G phones to be officially released next year.
Xiaomi will be one of the companies to participate in the China Mobile 5G pre-commercial field test that will take place in the first quarter of 2019. In today's presentation, Xiaomi demonstrated web browsing and video call of the Mi MIX 3 5G variant to reveal what kind of 5G experience that people can benefit in the near future.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G edition is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset which is equipped with the LTE X50 modem that brings 5G capabilities to the phone. Combined with Xiaomi's intelligent antenna switching technology, the Mi MIX 3 5G version can reach up to 2 Gbps of download speeds. The smartphone allegedly features aviation polymer cooling technology for the creation of a high efficiency heat conduction system to enhance the user experience. The rest of the specifications of the 5G version of Mi MIX 3 can be the same as its regular version.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G edition has a ceramic construction. It's a sliding phone with a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen that offers 93.4 percent screen to aspect ratio. The slider of the smartphone is equipped with a dual selfie camera of 24 megapixels and 2 megapixels. The rear panel of the device is equipped with a pair of 12 megapixel cameras. Includes 3.200mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0. The smartphone received MIUI 10 flavored update from Android 9 Pie OS. There is a possibility that the Mi MIX 3 5G edition can include 10 GB of RAM and a built-in 256 GB of storage. The smartphone will be official in the first quarter of 2019 and the first market to receive it may be Europe.
