When will Apple release iOS 13.2 to the public?

Following the releases of iOS 13 and iOS 13.1, Apple is currently testing iOS 13.2. The update is currently available to both beta and public developers, but what about a general release?

What's new?

IOS 13.2 includes several notable features. Firstly, there are over 60 new emoji and emoji variations on iOS 13.2. Apple first viewed these emojis during the summer and they will be publicly targeted with iOS 13.2.

The new emoji includes things like a new yawning smiley face, a one-piece swimsuit, new food items like waffle, falafel, butter and garlic and new animals like sloth, flamingo, orangutan and skunk. In total, the new 2019 emoji set includes 59 new characters that make up 75 total variations when gender options are considered and 230 options when skin tone options are included.

In addition to the new emoji, iOS 13.2 also includes the Announce Messages with Siri feature, originally intended for iOS 13.

With AirPods or other H1-enabled Beats headsets, you can hear and respond to incoming text messages. Siri transcribes the message so you can hear the text without looking at the phone or watching. You can ignore or answer right away without saying "Hey Siri".

IOS 13.2 also includes new Siri privacy settings that enable or disable sharing of your Siri interactions with Apple. At first launch of iOS 13.2 you will see a new home screen saying:

Help improve Siri and Dictation by allowing Apple to store and review the audio of your Siri and Dictation interactions on this iPhone and any connected HomePod. You can change this later in the settings of each device. Data is not associated with your Apple ID and will be stored for a limited time only.

Perhaps most notably, especially for iPhone 11 users, iOS 13.2 includes Apple's new Deep Fusion camera technology. Deep Fusion is Apple's new background image processing technology that works in the background to improve the image quality of iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro users.

IOS 13.2 includes several other notable changes and enhancements, such as new iPadOS home screen settings, AirPlay for TV changes, various interface and icon changes, and more. Read more about 9to5Mac iOS 13.2 coverage below:

When will iOS 13.2 be released to the public?

IOS 13.2 will likely be released to the general public by the end of October. Apple is currently in the third beta of iOS 13.2, and the fourth may be released later this week.

In addition, the new Beats Solo Pro headphones will be released on October 30th. Apple's Solo Pro product page says some of the features require iOS 13.2 to work. It is unlikely, but not impossible, that Apple will launch the new Solo Pro headphones without also launching iOS 13.2.
