For the second time in less than a week, a bank of the TD Canada Trust was stolen, but this time the police confirmed that a firearm was discharged during the incident.
Police also said there were no injuries and that two suspects were in custody in connection with the robbery.
The incident started shortly before 8pm. Friday night and I ended up with several cops giving chase on foot and on patrol vehicles. Traffic was crazed on Kenmount Road and Pippy Place as police approached the busy streets to investigate two separate vehicles, one on Kenmount Road and a second small pickup that ended up nose to nose in a snowy embankment at Pippy Place.
A forensic identification officer was spotted photographing a sneaker that was stuck in the foot of the SUV on Kenmount Road.
Two witnesses who spoke to The Telegram, Craig Clancey and Philip Sullivan, saw part of the incident happen at Pippy Place. They said they saw several police officers and the K-9 unit scouring the area, on foot and in police vehicles, and at one point spotted one of the suspects running across the road. They added that the male was carrying a large rifle or shotgun and was dressed in dark clothes.
Shortly afterwards, police told Clancey and Sullivan that two suspects were in custody.
A forensic identification vehicle was spotted in front of TD Bank on Kelsey Drive, where the incident originated.
The RNC says more details with a list of charges will be released on Saturday morning.

Police took a vehicle in a tow truck on Kenmount Road.
At nine o'clock in the evening, traffic was moving slowly on Kenmount Road after being blocked for about thirty minutes.
