UK Graphics: Super Smash Bros Ultimate is the best-selling Smash Bros of all time

Just Cause 4 debuts at No.6

Super Smash Bros Ultimate sets franchise record to become the No.1 UK boxed game this week.

It's the best-selling Nintendo Switch game released so far, beating the combined sales of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Pokmon: Let's Go Eevee.

Launch sales of the game are 302% higher than the numbers obtained by Super Smash Bros for Wii U and are 233% higher than Super Smash Bros for 3DS. Launch sales are also 62.5% higher than the Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All of this means that Ultimate is the Smash Bros game that sells the most in the UK's franchise history.

It is worth noting that sales include only physical numbers, so Ultimate digital downloads were not counted.

There was a switch hardware promotion this week with Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, which boosted sales of that game by 45% per week. The title went up four places to No.5.

The arrival of Smash Bros means that FIFA 19 loses its first place, and in fact falls two spaces for the number 3. Red Dead Redemption 2 stays firm in # 2 for the second consecutive week.

The other major release this week is Just Cause 4. The Square Enix title debuts two spaces below, where Just Cause 3 landed three years ago, and sales fell 61.5% compared to the launch sales of that game. It's the slowest Just Cause game released so far, although if digital sales were included, it may have surpassed the original 2006.

The PS4 version of Just Cause 4 accounted for 55% of sales, with the remainder coming from the Xbox One.

Another new release this week was the Player's Battlegrounds on PS4, which drives the action game back to the charts at No.22 (sales up 321 percent).

The new release last week, Darksiders III, completely disappeared from the charts.

Out of Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, all Top Ten games fell in sales week by week, with the end of the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales period. 972,365 games were sold last week, generating more than 35 million.
