Columbus Blue Jackets goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky will not be with the team for tonight's game against Nashville Predators, general manager of club Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
"There are certain expectations and values we set for our players that define our culture," said Kekalainen. "There was an incident in which Sergei was unable to meet these expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight's game. This is an internal matter and we will not have any further comments at this time."
Bobrovsky, 30, is 18-13-1, averaging 2.87 goals against (GAA), .906% economy (SV%) and two shutouts in 32 games this season and has accumulated a mark of 236-142-37 , 2.47 GAA, .919 SV% and 26 shutouts in 427 NHL games. In 344 games as a blue coat, he is 194-119-27 with a 2.42 GAA, .921 SV% and 26 shutouts.
