School buses are canceled in areas near the two largest cities in eastern Ontario, but not yet in Ottawa or Kingston.
Chilly rain at night is in transition to a steady, sometimes heavy rain today.
This caused school buses to be canceled for English students in Renfrew County and for Catholic school councils in Upper Canada and East Ontario.
"Mixed overnight and overnight precipitation has made many rural roads and secondary roads treacherous or impassable this morning," said the Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO).

O Commission of the Hauts-Bois-de-l'Outaouais School has canceled primary and secondary school classes today – not just buses – but is keeping the adult and professional classes in business.
The Western Quebec School Board has chosen not to administer buses to some schools:
