The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) declared an illegal meeting after a congress began on Crewshaw and Slauson streets in Los Angeles on Monday night, ABC7 reported.

Helicopter reporter Chris Cristi tweeted a photo showing at least six police vehicles on the scene.

Fox11's anchor, Christine Devine, tweeted that the Los Angeles Police Department was separated from a crowd after some people were injured after a fight.

The LAPD tweeted that its "men and women are on the site and are making every effort to protect all the presents in the wake of Nipsey Hussle".

Police even said the reports of firing on the memorial "do not seem to be accurate."

They confirmed, however, that people were "wounded in chaos" and that they were trying to restore order.

Fox11 Helicopter reporter Kevin Takumi tweeted a video that showed a crowd of people scattering quickly.

He said a fight started at the scene and that people started running.

Takumi later tweeted a video showing that people had mostly left the scene, although the police remained.

Video tweeted by KCAL9 reporter Rachel Kim showed a scene filled with wreckage, with helicopter rotors still in the air.

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) had 19 patients in total, two of whom were in critical condition, two in severe condition and 15 with life-threatening injuries.
