The new system software update for Nintendo Switch, version 7.0.0, is now available. However, the patch changes surprisingly little, despite the version number that sounds important.
The update adds Chinese and Korean language support to the home screen and introduces new user icons with the theme New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. In addition to these features, version 7.0.0 only includes "general system stability improvements to enhance the user experience."
The new Super Mario Bros. U is the latest major release for the Switch, so it might not be surprising for Nintendo to include content around that game in their system upgrades. We give the platform a 7/10 in our new review of Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
"Despite its aging formula, the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is still a great entry into the series, with its typically compact platform and accessibility and depth to spare," he said. "While it may seem a bit stale for those who have been around the Mushroom Kingdom many times before, it's worth playing Deluxe, especially if you did not get a chance to play the NSMBU on Wii U."
