Moncton woman accused of attempted murder

A 52-year-old woman from Moncton was charged with attempted murder after a stabbing took place in a parking lot of a Sobeys.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the RCMP Codiac responded to a report of a woman being stabbed in the Sobeys parking lot at Vaughan Harvey Boulevard in Moncton.

The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries and released later.

Shortly after the incident, police located Jeanne Pond, 52, at a residence in Moncton.

On Saturday, Jeanne Pond was charged with attempted homicide. Pond was arrested in custody and must appear in the Moncton Provincial Court on December 27, 2018.
