A warning of boiling water will remain in effect until Monday for parts of Milton.
The medical health officer for the Halton region issued the warning as a result of a break of watermain.
They are advising homeowners and businesses in the area to take precautions. This means using an alternate supply of water or boiling water for at least one minute before drinking, brushing, cooking or washing food and dishes.
Officials are also notifying restaurants and elsewhere that food is ready for them to close until the warning is lifted.
Residents who need clean water can bring empty containers to Milton Sports Center, where they will be stocked free on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays until noon.
The Region says the alert will be lifted when laboratory tests confirm that water is safe to drink.
The community will be notified by phone, social media and on the Region website.
Food preparation facilities in parts of #MiltonON affected by the Boil Water Advisory will be closed until the notice is lifted. See a map of affected areas: https://t.co/X46y8N0qxQ https://t.co/jlvQBJ1vQx
