Kofi Kingston says losing his place in the Fastlane Main Event was "painful"

Kofi Kingston issued a moving statement about his removal from the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.

"I needed to take a few days to process what actually happened. Shock, sadness, emptiness, frustration, anger, confusion are just a few feelings on a roller coaster of emotions, "Kofi began his shared statement on Twitter.

In case you missed the SmackDown Live episode on Tuesday night, WWE CEO Mr. McMahon announced that Kofi was being replaced in Fastlane's main event for the return of Kevin Owens.

In the statement … Kofi also thanks New Day for having his back and all the others who supported him during his 11 years in WWE.

"To dismiss all of this is suddenly painful, to say the least," he said, before ending on an optimistic note: "I thank you all more than you know and thank you all for your love and support. : We will be back. The journey does not end here.
