Honor view 20 camera samples reveal prowess of 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor


In July, Sony announced the Sony's IMX586 48-megapixel camera sensor. Yesterday, Honor confirmed that the first phone to appear will be Honor View 20, which will be released on January 22 in Paris, France. The same phone will be announced as Honor V20 on December 26 in China. The Huawei sub-brand shared the first Honor V20 camera samples to reveal the photographic prowess of the 48-megapixel camera sensor in all types of lighting environments.

The Sony CMOS sensor IMX587 offers a large pixel size of 0.8 micrometer. In addition, Quad Bayer technology stacks four adjacent 2 × 2 pixels in the same color. It will be users to capture photos without noise in low light conditions. The first samples of cameras show that Honor V20 will be able to capture DSLR as photos on a smartphone.

Some of the photos shown below were recorded at night, light areas and some of them in black and white. In short, the Honor V20 can be a powerful top-of-the-range camera-centric smartphone.

Honor V20 is Honor's next main phone. Therefore, it is powered by the Kirin 980 chipset. The Chinese manufacturer has confirmed that the phone will be equipped with Link Turbo technology, which combines Wi-Fi and LTE to work together for faster and uninterrupted connectivity.

The Honor V20 is equipped with a 6.4-inch screen with a hole in the screen in the upper left. Rumors say the phone will also be equipped with a 3D ToF sensor to create accurate 3D models for Augmented Reality (AR). The exact size of the battery that will power the smartphone is not known. However, it has been confirmed that the phone will support 22.5W of fast charging. The device is expected to reach China with a starting price of 2,799 yuan (~ US $ 406).
