This weekend, Anthem has its second and last demo before the official launch of the game. Below, we describe all the information you need to know about the open demonstration, including how you can participate and what you can do.
Anthem is a multiplayer, third-person shooter RPG developed by BioWare. You take control of a Freelancer, one of the wretched heroes who protect the inhabitants of Fort Tarsis, who ventures into the world to fulfill contracts, explore unexplored territories, and deal with threats to others. You do this with the help of darts, powerful exo-suits that give your pilots strength, reflexes, and superpower skills and come equipped with flying jets and deadly weapons.
There are currently four Javelins in Hymn, each of which offers a different range of skills. The Ranger exists mainly as a support Javelin, but its variety of powerful grenade, rocket and laser abilities provides enough explosive firepower to stand on its own. Colossus is the slowest of the darts, but also has the toughest armor and is the only strong enough to carry heavy weapons and an almost indestructible shield. The Interceptor, on the other hand, swaps the defense by an extremely fast speed that puts it on the face of the enemy, where it can cause great melee damage before turning out of the way of danger. Finally, Storm also has light armor, but his personal force field and powerful elemental attacks give him plenty of far-reaching potential.
Anthem Releases for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game has a tiered release, but will be available to all on February 22. Both editions are available for pre-order.

When is Anthem Demo?
The Anthem demo begins on February 1 at 9am PT / 12h ET / 5PM from the UK. It ends on February 3 at 6:00 PM PT / 9PM ET, which is February 4 at 2 AM in the UK.
How to participate in the demonstration
To participate in the open demo, you'll need to download the client first. It's 26 GB on consoles and 44 GB on the PC, and you can pre-load the client right now if you do not want to spend time during the weekend downloading.
When the demo is finished downloading, you will need to log in to your EA or Origin account to access the game. On Xbox One and PS4, you will need a Gold / PSN subscription, since Anthem, even when you play alone, is an online game. Microsoft is hosting a Free Play Days For All event this weekend from January 31 to February 1 so you can play the first day of the Anthem demo on Xbox One without paying for a Gold subscription.
What can you do in the demo?
The Anthem demo happens a little before half the full story, and you can play through two missions. You can also explore a part of the complete Anthem map in freeplay mode and tackle one of the most difficult parts of content: a Stronghold.
With the exception of Stronghold – which must be faced with four players – each part of the demo can be done alone or in a group. However, you receive experience reinforcements while playing with others, so it's worth your time to join. You will start at level 10 in the demo and you can reach 15. Everyone starts with the Javelin Ranger, and at level 12 you can unlock one of three others: Colossus, Interceptor or Storm. You will only be able to unlock another Javelin the whole demo, so choose wisely.
If you played the Anthem VIP demo, your progress from this demo will be transferred to that demo. Your progress from any demo, however, will not be transferred to the full game.
