Freezing rain toward parts of southern Quebec

Good news about weather: it will not be too cold today.

Bad weather news: A different kind of miserable winter weather is heading for us.

Environment Canada issued a freezing rain alert for parts of southern Quebec

Rainfall will begin in the Outaouais and Upper St. Lawrence regions tonight and will continue eastward toward the Laurentians, Lanaudière, Vaudreuil and Montreal.

It will reach the Montreal area around 9pm. About two to five millimeters of freezing rain will fall, except in locations north of Montreal, where that number increases from five to 10 millimeters.

The freezing rain will eventually change into rain on Sunday.
