A woman believed to be in her 30s was rushed to the hospital in life-threatening conditions after an accident in Toronto early Saturday.
The collision between two vehicles on Davenport Road and Hazelton Avenue left two others injured.
A man who also believes he was 30 was taken to the hospital while the third person injured was treated on the spot.
Emergency teams were called to the area around 6:25 am.
Police said one of the vehicles rolled.
CBC Toronto has confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles works for the Lyft ride sharing platform, however, they were not on duty at the time.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of this tragic accident and the resulting loss of life," said a statement from a Lyft spokesman.
"Although the accident did not occur on our platform, we contacted the driver to extend our support and we are ready to assist law enforcement in their investigations."
The main Toronto police crash department took over the investigation. The Davenport Road was closed from Avenue Road to Belmont Street while officers rebuilt the accident, but since then have reopened to traffic.
