Competitor "Price is Right" rejects trip to Winnipeg


Winnipeg – A man from New Hampshire who won a trip to Manitoba in "The price is fair" refused to make the trip because taxes were too high.

Lee Norton won a six-night stay at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg on the December 4 episode of the game show.

The trip also included a one-day visit to Churchill, Man., To see polar bears.

The hotel told CTV Winnipeg that Norton refused the trip because of the taxes he would have to pay.

The game show promised participants "a winter they will never forget," with a chance to "watch the polar bears in their natural habitat in beautiful Canada."

Norton was spotted clapping and smiling at the prospect before winning the prize.
