Some residents in Halifax had no water or water service that was discolored for most of Saturday.
The Halifax Water teams had to repair a water pipe on Bayne Street, which is near Lady Hammond Road and Windsor Street.
Customers at Bayne Street, MacKintosh Street and Forrester Street ran out of water for most of the day.
It is expected that the service will be restored until 21:00.
In a press release sent on Saturday night, Halifax Water said the extreme cold is making repair work slower and harder for teams and equipment.
Halifax Water said residents should not drink or cook with discolored water, but it is safe to bathe, bathe, clean and flush toilets.
There may be some traffic delays on Bayne Street as repairs are performed.
