Brie Larson was able to hold Samuel L. Jackson's lightsaber, she cried

We're only 9 days from the release of Marvel Studios' first solo superhero movie, and Captain Marvel The hype is real. The person who is feeling the most right now is undoubtedly the star of the Oscar-winning film, Brie Larson.

It seems that the experience of becoming the newest hero of Marvel Studios is a process, and one that co-stars Samuel L. Jackson is happy to help you navigate. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, the pair talked a little bit about their individual and joint experiences within the MCU.

EW: You talked about how the size and scale of Captain Marvel still did not seem real to you. Has this started to change?

LARSON: You have brief moments. Like when we did an event in Singapore, I felt a little something. But I am grateful to be the conductor of a certain symbol. I do not recognize myself. I do not think when people are excited or excited about this character or this movie, it has something to do with me.

JACKSON: But you know, you're going to have screaming moments right now. Wherever you go, it will be "Ah! Captain Marvel, ah!

LARSON: But it's important to me to say, "I'm not Captain Marvel. I'm not."

JACKSON: I know. But do not worry about it. As long as you're sure of that, fine. You are who you are and understand that it is one of the countless characters you have played or will play during your life, and you are grateful.

LARSON: I do. I feel more grateful than I thought I would. I thought I'd be more upset about this process. Instead, I feel more curious and it's like a strange dream we are in now. I'm more interested in this than I thought my introverted self could handle.

And, perhaps our favorite reveal so far from the company between Larson and Jackson – she managed to hold her purple lightsaber Mace Window!

LARSON: I have to hold his lightsaber! He brought it to me on set on May 4, and I cried. It was so cool. I want to be a Jedi.

We did too, Brie, we did too.
