OXFORD COUNTY, Ont. – The Oxford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single car accident that cost a man's life and put two others in the hospital.

The accident happened late Saturday night in Zorra Township.

OPP investigators say the vehicle was heading north on the 19th line when it entered a ditch, struck a power pole, and then hit a tree.

Police said the driver, a 21-year-old man from Ingersoll, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the hospital. They say two male passengers, including one who was ejected from the vehicle, were also hospitalized with undetermined injuries.

The deceased's name was being withheld until notification of the next of kin.

Police, however, said speed and alcohol were being considered as contributing factors in the accident.
