FORT LAWRENCE, N. – A 61-year-old man died after a two-vehicle collision on the east lane of Highway 104, near Exit 1A, on the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border.
The RCMP said in a statement that the man was found dead in the driver's seat of the vehicle that collided with a truck trailer.
Initial investigation indicates that the man-driven vehicle collided head-on with the tractor trailer. No one else was injured.
The east side of Highway 104 is closed to traffic as traffic analysts investigate the accident. Traffic was being diverted around the accident on Highway 970 in New Brunswick to Highway 366 in Tidnish.
The western section of the highway was not affected.
