An end is in sight for the serious B.C. of this week. storm that led to long power outages and damage to dozens of buildings and homes.
Canada's Environment Ministry continued its wind alert for Vancouver Island early on Saturday, urging the use of wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour in the coastal and northern sections. In the eastern region, and in Victoria, the national forecast says that the winds will reach 70 kilometers per hour.
Winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour are planned for Vancouver Island.
But the storm should decrease below the alert criteria, starting in the area around the Victoria and Campbell River, starting in the afternoon. On Saturday night and at night, the rest of the island will be free.
About 60,000 BC Hydro customers on Vancouver Island, Salt Spring Island and Galiano Island are still powerless.
