At first glance, the almost complete absence of physical buttons on the instrument panel is in sight. A thin strip of ventilation openings is located at the bottom, only a few buttons are visible.
The center console has several niches for storing objects, including a wireless charging keyboard for mobile devices. The multifunction steering wheel is brand new and the transmission selector looks radically different.
The Golf VIII will be featured at an in-house event at Volkswagen's Wolfsburg headquarters in October. The new model will continue to be available with gasoline and diesel engines as well as a methane plant. For the first time, however, there will be a soft hybrid with a 48 volt electrical system.
