By Marco Aurélio Carone, special for the Viomundo The campaign of Romeu Zema, elected governor of Minas Gerais in 2018, trumpeted in the four winds: a new way of governing.

After almost 11 months in office, Novo is just his party name.

Gradually, he has been embroiled in the mire of corruption that has dominated the state since 2003, when toucan Aécio Neves, now a federal deputy, took over.

This is the case of the Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig).

Zema is allowing this still mostly state-owned PSDB group to erase the traces of a large scheme of irregularities.

On October 13 this year, so a month ago, Light approved the sale of its 17% stake in Renova Energia for the symbolic value of R $ 1.00 – ONE REAL.

Interestingly, at the shareholders' meeting that approved the operation, Cemig's chairman, Cledorvino Belini, took a stand. The reason is not yet known.
