Tangle of wires in Gomes de Carvalho Street – Andre Porto / Metro
Procon signed a memorandum of understanding with Enel and Vivo, Oi, Tim, Claro and Telcom to stop the “pollution” of wires in the poles of São Paulo. Under the "Gambiarra" operation, companies will have to arrange all their cables at six points per economic group. The wires must also not be in any emergency situation, at risk to the population or in proximity to the power grid.
Enel will participate by removing irregular and clandestine wires – which have no contract with the distributor – so that telecommunications companies have room to adapt their networks.
The first stage of the operation began yesterday, on May 23rd Avenue, and should end on December 20th. The next avenues will be Pedro Álvares Cabral, Brazil, Rebouças, Engineer Luís Carlos Berrini and 9 de Julho until José Maria Lisboa Street. The works should cover about 1,800 posts.
