Kia Seltos, the new compact global SUV, is confirmed in Brazil; know

Kia introduced in New Delhi, India, the compact SUV Seltos – developed as a global product. The novelty begins to be sold in the Asian country, South Korea and other markets of the Northern Hemisphere in the second half.

Kia Motors Brazil has confirmed the Privacy Policy that the sport utility comes to the country. The release date, however, has not yet been defined.

Production will be in India and South Korea and prices have not yet been released.

The manufacturer still maintains secrecy about the dimensions of the body, but we can see that the stance is intermediate between Stonic, shown in the last São Paulo Motor Show, and Sportage – the best selling model of the South Korean brand in Brazil. The size is similar to that of Hyundai Crete.

Full-LED headlights

The Seltos has an imposing front, highlighting the full-LED optical assembly divided into two sections, available in the GT Line top version. Also striking is the grid with chrome frame, which reinforces the impression of larger size. The rear, in turn, displays horizontal lanterns, also LEDs and joined by a bar, also chrome. Front and rear bumpers come with metal shield protection.

The model will be offered with 16, 17 or 18-inch wheels, depending on the version. Also available with bicolour paint, a trend. Kia does not say whether there will be an all-wheel drive option – teaser released by the brand's Indian subsidiary shows the Seltos on a dirt road and says the SUV has been tested on "all terrain and weather".

On the other hand, are already known the alternatives of motorization: 1.6 gasoline with turbo and direct injection, capable of yielding 177 hp; 2.0 aspirated, of 149 hp; and 1.6 turbodiesel, which yields up to 136 hp.

The transmission, in turn, can be automatic six-speed, automated dual-clutch and seven-speed or CVT. The configuration that will come to Brazil is not yet known.

Inside, the multimedia center with 10.25-inch tactile 'floating' screen, while the panel appears to be analog, with a color screen in the center.

The list of available items includes ambient door panel lights that vary according to music, Bose sound system with eight speakers, head-up display in eight-inch transparent screen and digital air-conditioning.

The safety is enhanced with six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, traction and stability controls and ramp starting assistant. Apparently, no semi-automatic driving systems.
