Jo Vandeurzen, 60, plans to end his political career at the national level, announces the person in an interview published on Saturday at Het Belang van Limburg. The Flemish public health minister, however, is not advancing to its future beyond the May 2019 elections. "I do not have a plan, I do not have a job offer, I leave all the doors open"Mr Vandeurzen will not be at the top of the list next year for CD & V in the province of Limburg, nor is he a candidate for a new ministerial portfolio.
"I'm 60 years old. If I want to make another turn in my career, I have to do it now. In addition, a political party should focus on renewal and rejuvenation"He says in the daily newspaper that Vandeurzen has been in charge of health and family in the Flemish government for almost ten years, beginning his political career of 36 years in the Flemish government.
He also served as President of CD & V for three years as a Member of Parliament and Minister of Justice for two years. (Belgian)
