In other categories, Dua Lipa was crowned best pop artist, the American group Panic! in the disco best alternative artist and best electro artist of Marshmello.

Winner of MTV EMA in 2017 with three awards including Best Artist, Canadian singer Shawn Mendes won the title of Best Live Artist.

American singer Janet Jackson, for more than three decades on stage, was crowned with the title of "Global Icon"a reward already awarded in previous editions of U2, Queen, Whitney Houston or Eminem.

In her speech of thanks, the sister of Michael Jackson said to speak by the name "of those women whose voices were silenced".

"I am one of those women who were gagged, literally but also emotionally, by these abused and intimidated women, those women who lived in fear. I'm with you, you're my sisters."she said.
