Deadly alpine accident in Ötztal: ski guide falls 140 meters


Sölden – On Saturday at 7:35 p.m., three French ski guides drove with a group of six French skiers from Martin Busch, in the Ötztal Alps, via the Niedertal, in the direction of Vent.

At about 2,440 meters, one of the ski tour guides lost his balance due to a steering error at the top of a hill and fell about 140 meters on steep terrain interspersed with rocks. Despite immediate rescue measures, only the 61-year-old man's death can be detected. (
