Frankfurt The digital currency Bitcoin continues to grow. For the first time since early 2018, the oldest and best-known digital currency surpassed the $ 14,000 (12,000 euros) mark on Saturday. More recently, the price on the Bitstamp cryptocurrency exchange has returned slightly to $ 13,911.
Crypto currencies have recently received new impetus with the payment service provider PayPal’s announcement that they would allow their customers to use them. The news follows other well-received news, such as the establishment of a Bitcoin fund by the big investment firm Fidelity this summer. Bitcoin gained about 30 percent in October alone.
Still in March, Bitcoin’s price with strong fluctuations had fallen below the $ 4,000 mark in the wake of the Corona crisis.
