German singer Lena Meyer-Landrut broke up after eight years of rapport with her friend Max.
Announced the night on Instagram.
Although the relationship lasted so long, they were rarely seen together in public.
Basketball player Max von Helldorff and the 27-year-old were a couple since 2010.
"Before being discussed by the press or otherwise held," Lena begins her message to her 2.4 million fans of Insta.
The two apparently separated, as she continues: "I have been incredibly grateful for the past 8 years and hope to bring all of this to a new future."
