PS PS4 free for February 2019, including For Honor and Hitman

PS Plus games for February 2019 are on the way, giving members of PlayStation's online subscription service access to a new batch of downloadable PS4 titles for the big price of zero pounds.

Kicking things is For Honor, Ubisoft's third-person fighting game in 2017 that makes you play as a viking, samurai or knight in epic battles against rival armies or other players. Each group contains a variety of classes to play, each with unique strengths and weaknesses.

The mechanics of combat are a little more complicated than a typical hack and slash title, with its positioning and angle of attack playing an important role as well as blocking, stopping and pushing your opponent.

There is a single player campaign that will help teach mechanics, but the main appeal of For Honor is in their multiplayer mode. The usual combinations of deathmatch and zone control are accompanied by Faction War mode, a persistent online conflict in which players fight on behalf of their faction to secure territory and gain new equipment.

Blades of glory in honor

The other free PS4 game from February is Hitman: The Complete First Season, the 2016 edition of the IO Interactive franchise with the same name. Although it has an episodic format when first released, this groups all levels into a single package.

Hired assassin Agent 47 embarks on another wave of international assassinations, taking him from Paris to Hokkaido. Each level is an exquisitely designed sandbox that lets you approach the hit any way you want.

For Honor and Hitman will be free to download until March 5.

Fortune favors the bald man in Hitman

Owners of PS3 and PS Vita get good news and bad news this month. The good news is that the high-concept fighting game Divekick (PS3, Vita), Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3), the Gunhouse defense title and the 2D aerial combat game Rogue Aces (both on Vita and crossbuy with PS4) are free from January 5 until March 8.

The bad news is that after that date, Sony will no longer include the PS3 and Vita titles in the free promotion of PS Plus monthly games. Given the lack of backward compatibility of PS4 and the likelihood of most people putting their PlayStation 3s in favor of a current machine, this was inevitable, but if you still have to make the leap to PS4, this is your last chance to take. a couple of freebies.
