McDonalds apologized after a child found a condom in the main dining area of one of their restaurants in Perth and sucked.
The mother of the child, who remained anonymous, 10 Daily she was getting dinner with her two-year-old daughter and husband on Friday night.
She was ordering food from the counter, the husband with the daughter, when the child found the condom.
"I do not know how that happened, but when my husband looks at her, she's sucking on a black condom" she toldDaily.
"I ran to the bathroom, washed my mouth and hands and went out and gave him a drink. We were terrified.
The woman said the condom was open and appeared to have been used. She thinks her daughter may have found her in a chair.
"I'm very angry and nauseous … I did not sleep. I have felt extremely guilty for taking her there in the first place, " she said.
After leaving Maccas and visiting his local doctor, the family was directed to return to the restaurant for the condom so they could take him to a hospital for testing.
"What if there's an STD there and my daughter can get it? We have to wait three months for a blood test, " she said.
In a statement to 10Daily, McDonald's apologized to the family and said they were investigating the incident.
"We are very sorry that the incident occurred and takes situations like this seriously. We are conducting an investigation into how this happened.
"Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities and we make sure that the shift manager on duty conducts what we refer to as a travel route every 30 minutes."
