Fortnite Season 8 is alive with an update adding a banana skin (among other things)

Epic Games has released Fortnite Season 8, and there are a lot of new content to take advantage of. It is important to note that the great new update usher in a world that sets the stage for everything that happens at Fortnite in the coming months.

"A monstrous volcano appeared," explains Epic on Fortnite's website. "Released from the Ice King's castle, the now-powerful Prisoner brought fire and flames to Fortnite and its islands. Pirates, Ninjas and a load of new fighters will fight the treasure, battle Pirate Cannons and discover legendary items."

That's right, finally, Pirates vs. Ninjas at Fortnite. Of course, the arrival of these new factions, along with the appearance of a giant volcano, had a significant impact on the island itself. As a result, there are new locations on the map: Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps. In addition, the volcanic openings have appeared around the island, and the gusts of air they shoot can be used to launch you and your vehicles into the sky.

Of course, Season 8 also features a new Battle Pass, and you can learn exactly what that means in our Battle Pass explainer. The shortest is that there are 100 new levels to climb the Battle Pass, which means a lot of new cosmetics to unlock and challenges to complete next to them. Plenty for avid Fortnite fans and newcomers to sink their teeth. You can see all the rewards in the Battle Pass, but as always, these are the new skins that are the highlight. Among those you can unlock by buying the Battle Pass is Peely, a banana skin person who can be seen hidden in one of the teaser images of season 8. As you can see above, it was worth the wait.

You can see everything that is new, adjusted and changed in the patch notes of Fortnite update 8.0. Along with the worldwide event, Epic has introduced a new cannon weapon, which can be used to destroy structures from a distance. Alternatively, a player can jump inside the cannon and shoot himself across the island, which is a very handy way to cover the ground and catch a surprise foe.
